The Automation Partnership hosts 10th User Group Meeting for major Pharma companies

The 10th User Group Meeting for The Automation Partnership's (TAP) sample management systems was held last week in Philadelphia, USA.

The event attracted a number of major Pharma companies from the USA and Europe, and included a tour of Wyeth's new discovery facility at Collegeville, PA. The meeting saw updates on TAP's latest automation and software developments, as well as a presentation by TAP's new Global Head of its Service & Support Division, Michael Desch.

TAP has been designing, developing and installing automated sample management and processing systems for over 15 years. Originally focused on compound management, the range now includes scalable systems for a range of throughputs and applications, including biological sample management at -20oC and ultra low temperature storage at -80oC.

Its latest generation of web-based sample management software, Concerto, can be deployed to complement existing systems, or as a single solution in place of multiple in-house legacy systems. Concerto has now been rolled out to 4 sites for 3 major Pharma customers, with an additional installation planned for later in 2008. These initial deployments cover a range of configurations from replacing / extending existing software installations, to new facilities spanning Europe and the USA
