The Automation Partnership sponsors ELRIG meeting on Frozen Cells & Automated Cell Culture

The Automation Partnership (TAP), a world leading supplier of innovative automation for life science applications, today announced it is sponsoring the ELRIG's meeting on Frozen Cells & Automated Cell Culture which is being held at Hinxton Hall (Cambridge, UK) this week.

The meeting includes talks from a number of scientists using TAP automated systems, including:

" Current Cell Supply for HTS" (Andy Tee, Pfizer) discusses the use of proven robotic cell culture systems (SelecT), to automate cell maintenance and production, providing live cells for screening 5 days/week

* "Automated Stable Cell Line Generation Using Cello" (Darren Cawkill, Pfizer) compares their new automated approach to the generation of optimised stable mammalian cell lines for both cell-based screening and whole cell antigen production to the equivalent manual process, and describes potential further applications for Cello beyond production of routine cell-based screening reagents.

* "Experiences in the Automation of Stem Cell Culture" (Liz Radcliffe, Loughborough Uni) presents on the automated culture of stem cells using CompacT CellBase with potential applications for therapeutics and drug test.
