The Automation Partnership hosts bioProcess UK and East of England Stem Cell Network reception

The Automation Partnership (TAP), a world leading supplier of innovative automation for life science applications, this week hosted a reception for Bioprocess UK and the East of England Stem Cell network at its Head Office near Cambridge, UK.

TAP played host to over 40 delegates from the industry and academia, as well as representatives from the UK Government's Trade and Industry department.

The evening included a workshop tour of TAP’s latest products and developments. Visitors were shown market-leading products such as CompacT SelecT (automated cell culture system) and Fill-It (for automated vial decapping and filling), as well as its custom automation developments which currently include a novel automated protein purification and concentration system.

Matthew Bullock, TAP’s Chairman, commented, “TAP was very pleased to host this networking reception. Our current product development programme is strongly aligned to the issues of cost and scale-up in process development and manufacturing of regenerative medicine products, with two GMP validated systems about to be installed for regenerative medicine applications.

Bullock continued, “The event was an opportunity to discuss future challenges and to agree best practice and solutions to address the issues. We recognise industry collaboration as route to building consensus and establishing standards and we hope that this group will be able to work towards this in the regenerative medicine field, and in doing so, further enhance the leading position of the UK in the field of regenerative medicine and stem cell therapeutics.”
