New ‘20 Years of Automated Cell Culture Podcast’ episode features Professor David Williams
The Automation Partnership (TAP), has added a new episode to its ’20 Years of Automated Cell Culture Podcast’ series featuring an interview with Professor David Williams.
In this interview Professor Williams explains how he believes regenerative medicine will develop over the next twenty years and the challenges this industry sector will face to become fully commercialised. He discusses which products he believes will emerge from the field of regenerative medicine in the next twenty years, the technical challenges cell based products of the future will face and the difficulties to be overcome before cell based therapies can become more commonly used in routine clinical practice.
Professor Williams holds a Chair in Healthcare Engineering and is Director of the Research School of Health and Life Sciences in the Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Loughborough University in the UK. He is actively involved in regenerative medicine initiatives and is the Principal Investigator on the £7m EPSRC funded UK Remedi Consortium.
Michaela McAdam, Online Marketing Manager at TAP commented: “We are delighted that Professor Williams agreed to be interviewed for our 20 Years of Automated Cell Culture Podcast Series. He brings his in-depth knowledge and expertise to bear on the subject matter and provides a fascinating insight into the future development of regenerative medicine.”
The Podcast Series can be found within TAP’s ’20 Years of Automated Cell Culture’ micro web site – established to celebrate the launch of the company’s first automated cell culture system in 1989. The Podcast presents news, interviews and special features, and also includes an interview with Professor Chris Mason of UCL. Visitors to the ’20 Years of Automated Cell Culture’ web site can listen to interviews streamed online, download mp3 files for ‘offline’ listening and subscribe to the Podcast to be notified of future episodes.
