Successful SelecT User Group meeting attracts over 60 participants
The 9th annual user group meeting for The Automation Partnership's (TAP) automated cell culture systems was held last week in Philadelphia, USA.
The event was hosted by Wyeth at their new discovery facility at Collegeville, and attracted almost 60 attendees representing users of TAP's SelecT family of automated cell culture systems - SelecT, CompacT SelecT and CellBase. Taking place over two days, the meeting included a welcome dinner and tour of Wyeth's new facility, as well as presentations by customers at ATCC, Cytokinetics, Merck and Novartis.
SelecT has become the ‘gold standard’ for cell culture to provide cellular reagents for cell-based screening. It has been installed in over 40 laboratories including all the major pharmaceutical research companies. The system is used in a wide variety of ways, both to provide cells for 1536 well uHTS screening campaigns as well as maintaining multiple cell lines (20+) in support of therapeutic area research.
CompacT SelecT and CellBase were developed in response to the demand for smaller systems suitable for the medium throughput laboratory and offer dramatic improvements in throughput, productivity and quality of outputted cells.
