What
is RSS?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication
(although other definitions are used) and is an easy way to
stay informed of updates made to web sites of interest. To
make use of RSS, you 'subscribe' to RSS information feeds
contained on web pages and you will be notified when the content
on these pages has been updated or changed.
The Automation Partnership web site provides RSS on a number
of web pages so you may stay up to date on the latest information
contained on them.
All you have to do is click the RSS logo when you see it on
one of our web pages.
How do I use RSS?
You will either need a dedicated piece of software called
an RSS Reader, sometimes known as an ‘aggregator’
or the latest web browser which may have RSS capabilities
built-in.
How you subscribe will depend on the RSS Reader software you
have chosen, but typically it will involve dragging the URL
of the RSS feed into your RSS Reader, or cutting and pasting
the URL of the RSS Feed you want into your RSS Reader.
A web browser with RSS capabilities will usually 'subscribe'
you to an information feed automatically when you have clicked
on an RSS logo.
For more detailed guidance on 'Subscribing'
to RSS feeds will usually be found in your particular RSS
News Reader's instructions or web browser Help screens. |
